Having Difficulties getting lubricated?

Unfortunately, many women struggle with getting “wet.” One of the causes is pain during intercourse due to the friction of the penis with the vagina, which can even end up hurting you.

Physiological factors that can affect lubrication:

It is common for hormonal problems to occur in the climacteric period (the period of life starting from the decline in ovarian activity until after the end of the ovarian function); there is naturally a decrease in the production of various female hormones during this phase.

It is advisable to consult a gynecologist to evaluate the hormone levels in the body.

Pregnancy

Another female physiological issue that greatly affects women’s lives in pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Indeed, we produce more vaginal secretion during pregnancy. Still, it is far from fulfilling the role of sexual lubrication, and about 1/3 of women experience vaginal dryness at this stage of life.

When moms are breastfeeding, things tend to get women dry during the postpartum period because of decreased estrogen production.

Use of contraceptives

The use of contraceptive pills can also affect women’s libido, and when this happens, lubrication backs down; this happens because they inhibit estrogen production at the normal level.

If this is the case, talk to your gynecologist about it. If necessary, they may recommend you change the pill or even the contraceptive method for one that doesn’t act so strongly in your bloodstream, softening the effects.

Use of medication

Some medications to treat colds or allergies, which contain antihistamines and the medicines used to treat asthma symptoms, can also cause a decrease in lubrication, causing dryness of the mucous membranes throughout the body, including in the genital area. For this reason, a doctor must prescribe and follow up on the use of these medications.

Emotional and psychological factors that can affect lubrication

Besides the physiological factors that affect female lubrication, we have emotional and psychological issues. Both can enact widespread dryness and can happen for a variety of reasons.

The sexual desire for someone is explained by physical reasons, such as attraction, and other, more subjective ones, such as smell and grip. The fact is that when the “chemistry” between the couple does not happen, the result is a lack of lubrication.

Some women want to please so much that they forget their own pleasure and leave their interests aside. Instead of spicing up the relationship, the urge to please the other can cause a real lack of libido in the long run.

You can’t set aside your pleasure for the pleasure of the other!

Depression and stress can also cause a decrease in libido, which, in turn, impacts lubrication during sexual intercourse. Another psychological and emotional point is the lack of interest in the partner, no matter the reasons, either because of routine, distance in the relationship, or the simple loss of interest.

This is directly linked to the lack of sexual appetite, foreplay, and consequently, the lack of lubrication.

What to do when identifying the causes?

When it comes to physiological causes, you can go to your gynecologist or endocrinologist, who will perform the necessary tests to find out what may be leading to the lack of lubrication.

If you realize that the causes are psychological, you can choose to see a therapist, a psychologist you trust.

The lack of lubrication is a problem that prevents many women from having sexual pleasure, and it may have a psychological cause or be due to some dysfunction in the female body.

Learn how to increase your lubrication:

After you talk to your doctor and find out the reasons hindering your lubrication, you will see that some practices and attitudes can help you in the treatment and that you can put into practice throughout your life.

Check out the tips to increase your lubrication and have more pleasure in bed:

1 – Avoid excessive use of intimate soaps

Of course, good intimate hygiene is essential for your health, but if you already have lubrication problems, be careful about overusing intimate soaps.

They can unbalance the vaginal pH and cause dryness in the area. Seek information from your gynecologist about the best use of these products and indications of those with neutral pH.

2 – Consume less coffee and alcoholic beverages

While you are in treatment to increase your intimate lubrication, it is important to review your diet.

Alcoholic beverages and coffee are some examples to be avoided for dehydrating the body and impacting the production of natural fluids.

3 – Relax

Yes, lubrication is associated with your relaxation during sexual intercourse by allowing yourself to become aroused and give yourself to your partner.

Stress may be hindering you from being lubricated, so look for ways to recharge your energy and relieve tension, such as exercising and meditation.

4 – Use foreplay to your advantage

If you feel that you’re not moist enough for penetration, encourage your partner to be less rushed and take some time for foreplay.

This is essential for your brain to understand that you’re excited; it’s the basic criteria for releasing all the vital hormones so that lubrication can occur.

5 – Test artificial lubricants

As important as it is for you to have natural lubrication, nothing prevents you from using resources such as industrialized lubricants to have a healthy sex life during your treatment. Choose water-based ones.
